Mews
has launched investment arm Mews Ventures to modernize the guest experience and how hoteliers operate.
George Barker, Mews’ director of communications and regional
marketing, says Mews Ventures is “the vehicle to accelerate more M&A
(mergers and acquisitions) activity with a team and branding after a lot of
learnings over the last two to three years.
“It’s our ability to showcase these success stories and
hopefully put us in the market for more,” Barker says.

Founded in 2012, Mews completed its first acquisition with the
purchase of Planet Winner in 2019. Since then, Mews has acquired four more companies.
During the past year, Mews acquired property management
system
Cenium
in February, point-of-sale software provider
Bizzon
in March and PMS
Hotel Perfect
in August 2021.
Richard Valtr, founder of Mews, says Mews Ventures will
position the company to take advantage of “considerable consolidation within
hospitality over the next few years.”
